A Dream Come True: Witnessing Wild Orcas in Baja California

I've always dreamed of seeing orcas in the wild — these majestic, powerful creatures have captivated me for as long as I can remember. During a recent trip to the Sea of Cortez, La Ventana, Baja California, Mexico, I set out with the primary goal of witnessing the mobula ray migration. While I knew there was a chance we might encounter orcas, I kept my expectations low to avoid disappointment.

To my surprise, shortly after setting out on the boat, our captain received a radio call: orcas had been spotted nearby. We quickly changed course and headed in their direction.

What happened next was beyond anything I could have imagined — a pod of orcas appeared, gracefully swimming around our boat. We were even lucky enough to see them up close, right in front of us in the water. It was a truly unforgettable experience. See the incredible moment captured below…
