Cenote Angelita: A Dive Into Another World

Tucked deep within the lush jungle surrounding Tulum, Cenote Angelita offers a truly unique diving experience unlike any other in the region. What sets this cenote apart is the surreal hydrogen sulfide cloud that forms at around 27 meters (89 feet) below the surface.

Unlike the halocline effects seen in other cenotes, such as “El Pit,” Angelita’s cloud appears as a thick, cotton-like fog — an ethereal veil that creates an almost otherworldly atmosphere. As you descend through this mysterious layer, a small island emerges in the middle of the cloud, giving the uncanny sensation of drifting through a dream or stepping into a scene from a science fiction film.

Exploring Cenote Angelita isn’t just a dive — it’s a journey to another dimension, which demands advanced scuba diving skills.
