Inside the Zenobia Wreck – Cyprus

The Zenobia is one of the most famous wreck dive in the world, which has sealed her place wreck dives Hall of Fame. The MS Zenobia sunk in 1980 at 1500 meters of Larnaca shores, in Cyprus. Laying at 42 meters depth, the inner part is amazing but should be accessed only with an experienced guide because it’s easy to get in, but not always as easy to find the exit…. The photo equipment used underwater was: GoPro Hero 3 Black Edition for the underwater footage together with a re

Sinking and First Dive on the Nemesis III in Cyprus

Diving centers in Cyprus, together with municipalities, Cyprus Tourism Office and the European community have bought 4 old boats in order to sink them and create artificial reefs. The first boat of the series, named Nemesis III was sunken on December 20st, 2013, just before Christmas, off the coast of Protaras. Many boats were around to celebrate the event. It was an important event for Cyprus as it will help to bring tourists to the island. Tourism is one of Cyprus main inco

Making of an Image by Johannes Felten

I sometimes prefer to make photo-reportages showing underwater photographers at work, rather than going out to take pictures of the sea-life itself. During the last Red Sea shoot-out, I had the chance to take part in some underwater photo productions with famous photographers. The first, Viktor Lyagushkin, whom I’ve related to in this previous post and this time Johannes Felten for whom I’ve shot the following pictures during two dives with him. Set 1: Just below the surface

Arctic Diving in Lofoten Islands – Norway – Underwater Photo Gallery

Pictures shot in Norway’s freezing sea, in the splendid Lofoten Islands. Thes islands used to be inhabitated by the Vickings before they left to England. Lofoten waters are well known from the fishermen because of the large quantity of fishes. There are now less fishes than in the early 20st Century when over 1000 fishermen boats used to anchor in Lofoten. Still, the underwater life is rich, many species can be found there. In the winter, it’s also possible to go to swim with

    Diving the Zenobia, Cyprus

Located at 10 minutes from Larnaca in Cyprus, the Zenobia wreck is impressive. She’s 172 meters long and 25 meters wide. She’s laying on her left side at a depth of 42 meters. The ship’s right side is at 17 meter under the sea surface. Since she’s situated at approximately 1.5 km (0.5 marine miles) from the coast, the only way to reach her is by boat. A couple of clubs are offering diving trips. The Zenobia Diving Center, the largest diving club, has purchased the Zenobia aft

Diving trip in Palau – Micronesia

Palau, the Kingdom of the Rocky Islands January 2002 When you reach Palau from the air, it is like getting inside a postcard. Its beauty is just like a dream. From the plane, you discover the deep blue see with green spots. The spots are getting bigger when getting closer; they are called the “Rock Islands”. You can only remain breathless when watching the scene. Far to the southwest of Micronesia (West of the Philippines), the Republic of Belau (the traditional name) consist
